Addiction is like a parasite. It slowly, but surely takes control over one’s body, leaving very little scope of recovery. An addict wakes up every morning to fight the same demons of urge. But there is always a chance to fight back and tread the path of recovery.
If somebody is habituated to drinking and has a family history of alcoholism, he or she should know when to pull the plug.
